The Origins of Mario
You might be wondering where did all of the Mario Games come from. Let us take you for a walk down on the memory lane and tell you the story of a little Italian plumber named Mario.
He is a fictional character in the Mario Games franchise, owned by the Nintendo Company. The first game was created by the developer Shigeru Miyamoto in 1981. The ones that created The Mario Games are now the best-selling franchise of all time. The protagonist of these series has appeared in over 200 video games ever since. But what is his purpose, exactly?
Well, unlike any other plumber, he does not have to fix the plumbing. Instead, he has to save the princess that was kidnapped or trapped in a castle. He might also need to reach the sky, defeat the evil bosses or save the castle.
Each game has its unique story. Every time, Mario has a different quest and purpose. Explore them all and see if you can complete the missions. Start with the original games, of course. Now, you have the chance of tasting the golden-age Mario Games, because nothing is as good as the originals.
The first one you should play is the one that represents the birth of these games. The 1981 classic Donkey Kong Game. With a retro graphic that takes you back almost a half of century, it is intriguing and captivating nevertheless. Mario's quest is here to save his girlfriend, Pauline from the hands of his angry ape. All you need to do is help Mario escape the falling barrels and jump towards the top of the construction site to save the princess. We know you can do it.
Towards the Modern Days
As the ages passed the games evolved, too. There were a few Mario Games that represented a transition between the old era and the new era. One interesting retro game would be the Mario Tower Defense Game. Here, Mario has the role of a defender. Try to help him protect the great tower by putting weapons on the way towards the tower and defeating the monsters that approach it. Easy, right? Come and show us what a good protector you are.
Another transition game is the Super Mario 63 Game, of course. It gives some of the young adults nowadays a sense of nostalgia, being their childhood game. The game contains four delightful stories. The highlight of each story was to save the Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom from King Koopa. In this game, Mario needs to jump over the underground pipes, crush the mushrooms and all of the other creatures that approach him and eventually defeat the big bosses that defend King Koopa's castle.
And speaking of big bosses, all of them have gathered to fight against Mario in the Mario Remix Boss Edition Game. But only with your help, he will be able to defeat them all.
And try to travel towards the sky and beyond in the Super Mario Sunshine 64 Game. Jump over the blocks of cement, the clouds, and the pipes to get higher and higher. And do not forget to collect all of the coins that might help you in the future. But do not look down, because you might fall. And if that happens, all of the coins that you have saved will disappear, and you will have to restart.
So do you want to travel through time and get a taste of the past? Then, these are the perfect games for you.
Why Mario Games are never getting too old
With all of the technology and resources that are provided nowadays, the Mario Games have undoubtedly reached the top of the charts. With perfect graphics and flawless stories, the new-age games really give you the virtual experience that everyone is craving for.
In the past, there was only one Mario Bros. Game featuring Mario and Luigi trying to defeat King Koopa. Nowadays, there are hundreds of games with the two delightful brothers as main characters. Most of them are solely for entertainment, but some of them point out real problems, thus being highly educational. And now, more and more characters join the series of thrilling games.
The Super Chick Sisters Game is the perfect example here. Pamela Anderson has discovered the secret that the KFC company has been keeping for so long. This is why Colonel Sanders has kidnapped her. While Luigi and Mario are in a hospital, because of an accident that happened in their previous adventures, their sisters have to replace them. Nugget and Chickette have the duty to stop colonel Sanders from killing the chickens and save Pamela Anderson. So you can be the hero of the modern stories and help the brand new characters succeed in their quests.
In a world where everything evolves so fast, it is nice to travel through time for a little while and remember the old ages. The Mario Games give you this opportunity. Whether you play the retro games or the new-age ones, all of them will provide you with a sense of mystery and adventure. And that is something specific solely to the kingdom of Mario, our little Italian plumber.
